This is the first comp and HOME page for the Dr. Irving site. The site was to display a rustic, jungle feel with the usage of old paper and an antique color palette.

CSS Zen Garden Site

Design Comp3

Clean and simple was the vision I had for this design. The crisp black and white accented by the pop of green was refreshing way of looking at CSS. I utilized a plain text also, Helvetica, and played around with size and boldness to create a random while fluid design. Basically I wanted to use a little to create a lot.

Design Comp 2

When this comp was created I thought of what a garden meant to me. The tree represented the foundation and the strength that CSS has on the web. It anchors design while making a beautiful element the draws the user in.

Design Comp 1

When I created this post I intended to portray an old or rather antique feel. The colors I used reminded me of old photography and distressed imagery. I wanted to add depth to the page my adding a grunge background giving it a more complete feel.

Assignment 2:CSS Layout: Design #4

Design #4: This organic image places me in the mindset of a garden at the center of a flower. As a designer I want to convey a organic feel that is Zen like in nature. It is not derived from the traditional Zen principles but more from the internal feeling of peace and tranquility.

Design #3: This design is a concept based up a seed. The image is to represent the beginning of the CSS process and then show how it blossoms into a garden.

Design #2 utilizes what I interpret to be the tree of life. It symbolizes the beginning of the garden and the leaves are indicative of all the directions in which CSS design can take you.
